RXT Sabre Family: RXT™ SabreDrive for the Spectra® T950 Library

Spectra Logic brings together the best of both disk and tape with the RXT SabreDrive for the Spectra T950 library. With the RXT SabreDrive and RXT SabreMedia, you can easily add disk to your backup strategy and automate mobile RAID. The RXT Sabre™ family of products lets you add RAID disk modularly to the Spectra T950 library, fitting seamlessly into a standard storage environment.

Adding RXT Sabre to a Spectra T950 library is as easy as adding a tape drive—the drive slides into the library in seconds. The library’s graphical interface leads you through the few steps required to configure RXT Sabre. Because the backup software sees the SabreDrive D150 as an LTO drive, no changes are required to your backup strategy and environment. You can scale performance by adding SabreDrives, and capacity by adding SabreMedia, in the same way you scale tape by adding tape drives and cartridges. Each SabreMedia pack matches the size of an LTO TeraPack® case and it is portable, like tape. You can gain the performance of disk and the reliability of RAID, all without adding footprint, hardware, or third-party software. RXT SabreMedia packs may work across the entire family of RXT products, which includes the RXT SabreDrive D150 and the RXT SabreDrive D350.
