Magnetic Tape Replacement

The DS1000 is a direct replacement for the magnetic tape drive that typically provides data to a high-speed press. Print files can be sent to the press via the DS1000 directly from a local network or even via the internet.

Our FlashTape units directly replace older tape drives,  but write the data to readily available Flash cards.  Replace old, unreliable tape drives with units that have no moving parts and readily available media.

Tape Libraries

Avax offers a complete range of 8mm and LTO  tape libraries. Everything from the local department to the entire enterprise - GigaBytes to PetaBytes.

Avax's tape subsystems cover a wide range of capacities and a very wide range of platforms in all popular formats.  We can still source tape drives and libraries in formats that are no longer being manufactured.

Data Interchange Solutions

From 1/2" 1600/6250 BPI reel-to-reel drives to 3480/3490/3490E compatible drives and stackers, or any of the newer format SCSI tape drives (4mm, 8mm, DLT), with data interchange software to handle mainframe and unix formats on practically any platform or operating system - Avax is the single source for all your data interchange requirements.

SCSI Switches

Used to share devices or to switch all the peripherals between a live and back-up system in a failback situation; making more use of existing peripherals by allowing them to be shared across multiple platforms.

Extenders

A hardware device which allows a SCSI bus to operate over a distance of up to 40 kilometres using fibre optic cables; a major step forwards for high availability distributed processing, delivering the advantage of both speed and distance for open SCSI working.

SCSI Converters

iSCSI to SCSI bridges, SCSI to iSCSI and bi-directional Fiber-SCSI bridges allow you the flexibility to connect your hardware in whatever way you need.
