 The
FS200 makes it easy to connect SCSI devices such as tape
and disk drives to a fibre network.
The Avax FS200
Storage Bridge is an entry level bridge for data transfers
between Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks (FC SANs)and SCSI devices.
the FS200 has a single 2 Gigabit Fibre Channel port to connect to
point-to-point, arbitrated loop or switched fabric topologies. Small
Form Factor Plugable (STP) transceiver support includes copper, multi
mode and single mode optical fibre for distance of up to 10 kilometers.
The SCSI bus is LVD/SE, with automatic negotiation for Fast, Narrow,
Wide, Ultra Wide Ultra 1 and Ultra 160 SCSI.
Initiator and Target
Mode
The FS200 is used for connecting Fibre Channel based hosts to SCSI
storage devices (Initiator Mode). For SCSI host to fibre channel device
(Target mode), we offer the SFC4200
bridge.
The FS200 easily allows you to connect a number of SCSI devices including tape
libraries, optical disks, SCSI RAID units and tape drives to a fibre
channel fabric or arbitrated loop environment.
By using an FS200 bridge and an SFC4200
bridge “back-to-back”, it is possible to extend a
SCSI bus over several kilometres without any system
or device changes.

CONFIGURATION AND
PERFORMANCE:
The FS200 is supplied with a SCSI Ultra 160 Wide port
with Low Voltage Differential mode operations. The FS200 features an
independent Fibre Channel interface working in full duplex mode. The
FS200 deliver a full Fibre Channel throughput of 200 MB/s with 64KB
data blocks.
COMPATIBILITY:
The FS200 is continually tested for compatibility with the leading
Library manufacturer's latest products and also with the major Fibre
Switch manufacturer's equipment to ensure the plug-and-play facilities
of the FS200 are maintained.
