Backup Solutions 
Data Protection Unit disk-to-disk backup appliance

Backup your iSeries machine (and any Windows, Linux or Unix systems that you have) at network speed to a Data Protection Unit (DPU) backup appliance.  DPU systems are available with capacities from 250GB to 8.8TB internal and up to 92TB with add-on disk.

Available with removable media or in RAID format, data can also be archived to tape (optional) or via a high-speed link to an off-site data vault (DPV) for immediate secure off site archiving.  

Paranoia  In-line tape encryption unit

The Paranoia family of data encryption units offer the choice of AES or interlaced DES3 encryption to provide "Plug & Play" data security to a wide variety of platforms and tape drives.

No changes to your backup procedures or software.

TE80 ultra-SCSI tape interface/emulator

Connect almost any tape drive to feature 6501 or 2729. Complete emulation of 3490 or 3590 drives for "plug and play" operation.

3490/3490E Plug Compatible sub-systems

Avax offers a complete family of plug compatible 3490 and 3490E drives and stackers, including a high-speed 9MB/sec unit. All of our 36 track (3490E) drives will read and write 18 track (3480/3490) format.

Auto Load 9 Track Tape Drives

Plug compatible, high performance, auto-loading reel-to-reel tape drives compatible with all models of iSeries (AS/400) and RS/6000. Need to transfer data to and from non iSeries (AS/400) sites? We also offer data interchange software to allow you to attach a 1/2" drive to almost any platform (e.g. Intel based) and read and write tapes in iSeries (AS/400) compatible format.

High security in-line data encryption units

Encrypt / decrypt data on the fly between the iSeries (AS/400) host system and a high speed SCSI tape drive.  No changes need to be made to your  OS or backup procedures.

SCSI Switches

Used to share devices or to switch all the peripherals between a live and back-up system in a failback situation; making more use of existing peripherals by allowing them to be shared across multiple platforms.

Extenders

A hardware device which allows a SCSI bus to operate over a distance of up to 40 kilometres using fibre optic cables; a major step forwards for high availability distributed processing, delivering the advantage of both speed and distance for open SCSI working.

SCSI Converters
