Technical
Overview
The T120’s BlueScale
environment is the library’s
core—the library’s intelligence. BlueScale software
is the
results of a decade’s work in data protection and tape
libraries—disk, too. This intelligence provides the features
that
make up the T120, and its ability to support new technologies as they
evolve. The BlueScale environment supports:
- Capacity on Demand (CoD) option lets you add capacity, on
demand, simply by logging onto the Spectra Logic Web site and
requesting a key that you use to enable the new slots
- Hot-swap drives and controllers; redundant components;
high density: modular design
- Guaranteed support, including Assisted self-maintenance
(ASM) option and AutoSupport.
- WORM-compatible media, along with LTO.
- Observatory option, and the Remote Library Controller
(RLC), and graphical touch screen front panel to simplify library
management and use
- A wide range of connectivity options, including
direct-attach and controller-based. The T120 controller
is called
a QIP--Quad Interface Processor.
